I found an animal

_DSC0893-Modifier Kopie

The person who finds an animal is not supposed to keep it. They must report the found animal either to the police or to an animal shelter. Ideally, the person should take the animal to a veterinarian or an animal shelter to check if it has a microchip. If the animal is microchipped and the chip is registered in a database, its owner can be identified immediately, and the animal can be reunited with its family.

In this context, please remember to update your microchip information in the ID-Chips database whenever you change your address, phone number, etc., so that we can contact you quickly if your pet is brought to the shelter.

However, a large number of found animals—whether dogs or cats—are neither claimed nor sought after by their owners. Despite all our efforts to investigate, we find that no one appears to have lost these animals, which suggests that they have been abandoned by their owners.

Cats and dogs that are found and brought to the shelter are cared for and featured with photos on our website under the “Found Animals” section. They remain at the shelter until their owners come to claim them. Unclaimed animals will be available for adoption after a certain period of time.
