Walking the dogs from the shelter<\/h2>\n

If you’d like to help out at the shelter and spend time with our animals, we invite you to walk the shelter dogs. Except on Sundays and holidays, you can come Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Our four-legged friends can’t wait to meet you!<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, we cannot reserve a specific animal for a walk.<\/p>\n

To become a dog walker and obtain a dog walker card, you must complete a brief introductory training session. Training sessions are held every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at our premises. The dog walker card you’ll receive upon completing the training is valid for one calendar year and can be renewed without having to retake the training.<\/p>\n

Since, particularly on Saturdays, the number of volunteer dog walkers coming to the shelter exceeds the number of dogs currently there, please be aware that there may not be a dog available for every volunteer.<\/p>\n

Internal Rules for Dog Walkers<\/h2>\n

  1. Dogs classified as high-risk may only be walked by holders of a valid dog license.<\/li>\n
  2. Only individuals 18 years of age or older are permitted to walk a dog.<\/li>\n
  3. Only individuals 18 years of age or older are permitted to walk a dog.<\/li>\n
  4. Children are not permitted to hold the dog on a leash.<\/li>\n
  5. Dogs must always be kept on a leash and may not be let off the leash under any circumstances. The use of retractable leashes (Flexi) or long leashes is prohibited for safety reasons.<\/li>\n
  6. \u00a0Dog waste must be picked up. Waste bags are available at the D\u00e9ierenasyl.<\/li>\n
  7. Access to public dog parks and playgrounds is prohibited for safety and hygiene reasons.<\/li>\n
  8. It is strictly prohibited to remove, alter, or tamper with the dog’s leash, muzzle, collar, harness, or tag.<\/li>\n
  9. It is prohibited to allow the dog to swim or drink from streams, ponds, or other bodies of water.<\/li>\n
  10. It is strictly prohibited to mistreat the dog, including by hitting it, kicking it, or yanking sharply on the leash.<\/li>\n
  11. Dog walkers are not allowed to bring dogs into cafes, brasseries, or restaurants, including outdoor seating areas.<\/li>\n
  12. Dog walks are conducted entirely at the walker’s own risk. The D\u00e9ierenasyl cannot be held liable for any damage caused by the dog to the walker’s clothing or accessories.<\/li>\n
  13. The dog must be back at the D\u00e9ierenasyl no later than 4:30 p.m. (3:45 p.m. on Saturdays).<\/li>\n
  14. The walker must remain reachable by phone for the entire duration of the walk.<\/li>\n
  15. Walks are permitted only with a valid walker’s card. Any violation of these rules will result in the revocation of this card.

    In the event of a fight between the dog in the walker’s care and another dog, or in the event of a person being bitten as a result of a violation of these rules or the walker’s negligence, the walker shall bear full responsibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
